The naval pullover is based on a much-coveted vintage piece we wish we owned, an early 20th century US Navy denim pullover. This style was a transitional design between WWI and WWII worn during training exercises. It represents a golden age of denim for American workwear use, particularly as intersects with the navy. While the denim history is such a big part of this style, we love the boxy shape and natural drape of the cut, the distinctive patch pockets, straight arm, and the overall design. We didn't futz too much with this one--sometimes there's no improving the original! This season, it comes in a fine-wale Italian cotton corduroy in a color we're calling olive oil. This isn't your average cooking oil... we're talking the vibrant piquant hue of the best stuff.
